Understand how Credits work, what’s included in each plan, and how usage is calculated.

What Are Credits?

Credits are Volumn.ai’s usage currency — think of them as your AI call quota. Every action that invokes an AI model (generating a reply, writing a post, sending a DM, extracting an audience) deducts Credits based on the actual tokens consumed.

  1. 1Input tokens: the content you send to the model (including recent conversation context).
  2. 2Output tokens: the content the model returns to you.
  3. 3Total cost per action = input tokens + output tokens.

Plans & Monthly Credits

Each plan includes a monthly Credit allowance that resets on your billing date:

  1. 1Hobby ($40/mo or $400/yr) — 500 Credits/mo. Up to 5 personas, basic growth tools, 5 GB storage.
  2. 2Professional ($200/mo or $2,000/yr) — 2,000 Credits/mo (monthly) or 1,000 Credits/mo (annual). Unlimited personas, 50 GB storage.
  3. 3Team ($2,000/mo) — 20,000 Credits/mo. Ideal for small teams managing 3–5 accounts long-term.

Per-Action Credit Costs

Here is a summary of the fixed per-action costs:

  1. 1Send Direct Message — 0.4 credits.
  2. 2Pull Timeline — 0.1 credits.
  3. 3AI Reply (Auto-reply) — 0.1 credits.
  4. 4Extract users from a tweet — 0.1 credits.
  5. 5Journal refresh — 0.1 credits.
  6. 6Find a user — 0.01 credits.
  7. 7SalesEngine search — 80 credits.
  8. 8SalesBot / Outreach Agent — billed at your configured per-task credit cap.
  9. 9Auto-reply with meme — +2 credits on top of the standard reply cost.

Viewing Your Usage History

You can check your Credit balance and detailed usage log at any time: go to the top-right avatar menu → Settings → Usage History. Each entry shows the action type, tokens consumed, and Credits deducted.

Credits do not roll over between billing periods. If you consistently hit your limit before month-end, consider upgrading to the next plan or reducing meme-reply frequency.
