Login & Session Issues

Troubleshooting login timeouts, OAuth errors, and session expiry on Volumn.ai.

3 min read

Why Login Issues Occur

Volumn.ai is an international product whose data comes from X and other overseas platforms. Due to OAuth third-party platform restrictions, users connecting from mainland China may experience login timeouts or session drops. Users on international IP addresses generally have a smooth experience.

  1. 1Check your network connection and ensure you are not behind a firewall that blocks OAuth redirects.
  2. 2If you are in mainland China, use a VPN or proxy with a stable international IP.
  3. 3Clear browser cookies and cache, then try logging in again.
  4. 4If the issue persists, try a different browser or incognito mode.

Re-connecting Your X Account

If your X session expires, go to Settings → Connected Accounts and click Reconnect next to your X account. This will restart the OAuth flow and issue a fresh access token.

💡

Session tokens typically expire after 90 days of inactivity or when you revoke access from X’s connected apps page. We apologise for any inconvenience caused by regional network restrictions.

Login recovery checklist

Login problems usually come from stale sessions, browser state, or mismatched account permissions. The fastest fix is to simplify the setup and test the connection again from a clean state.

  1. 1Refresh the browser session and sign in again if needed.
  2. 2Confirm the right X account is selected.
  3. 3Retry the connection before changing more variables.

Frequently asked questions

Why does Volumn.ai say my X/Twitter session is disconnected?

This usually happens when your X/Twitter session expires or you log out of X/Twitter in the browser. To fix it: ensure you are logged into X/Twitter in the same browser where the Volumn.ai extension is installed, then refresh the Volumn.ai sidebar.

Why does the Reply Agent stop working when I close my browser?

The Reply Agent requires the Chrome extension and an active X/Twitter tab. When the browser is closed, the extension cannot operate. Keep your browser open with the X/Twitter tab active for continuous operation.

How do I fix 'Extension not detected' in Volumn.ai?

Install the Volumn.ai Chrome extension from the Chrome Web Store, pin it to your toolbar, and ensure it is enabled. Then refresh the Volumn.ai app and X/Twitter tab.
